
When she was only 7 years old Amina Blake already had the knack for sales. Walking down to the local village market in her home town in Trinidad in the West Indies, she would spend her weekends selling rare and exotic spices to locals and tourists alike gaining a reputation for her winning personality, honesty and integrity.
Though real estate can be a competitive and cut-throat industry Amina has found that her passion, drive and ambition can outlast the most difficult negotiator.
"In this business you really do get as much as you put in to it", she says. "You need to be confident in your ability or the person you're dealing with will lose confidence in you. I always keep the lines of communication open because being honest with one another is the only way the deal works."
Amina considers her negotiating skills to be a strong point in that she has the unique ability to understand the needs and expectations of the buyer and the seller and then finding the common ground that will make both sides happy with the final deal.
"The reward for me isn't about the money," she says, "it's about knowing I was able to help people find a home they want to live in and that I was a part of a families dream."
Whether it's selling spices in a local market or closing the deal on a multi-million dollar home Amina Blake knows how to get the deal done and staying true to her family roots and tenants of integrity and honesty have led her to a bright career in real estate.
